Do I Have to Pay my Pet Sitter?

We encourage our Pet Sitting Community to make at least a nominal charge for their professional services.

Many of our sitters charge a daily rate, some a fixed rate, and others living expenses.

It is entirely up to you to agree what you consider a fair remuneration for the requirements of the Pet Sit.

We are happy to provide advice and guidance if required.

Vet Treatment during a Pet Sit

Trust My Pet Sitter members benefit from 24/7 Vet Advice Line for the duration of the Pet Sit.

This helps answer most questions and more importantly guidance on whether a trip to the Vet is required.

All Pet Parent members must have their pets registered with a local vet – and have made arrangements with them to cover the cost of any treatment required during their absence.

The Vet Contact Details and Emergency Contact will be included in the Digital Pet Sitting Pack provided prior to the sit.

Do I Need a Police Check to be a Pet Sitter?

A police check means that a Pet Sitter has a certificate (in the UK it is called a Disclosure) stating that they do not have any criminal convictions.

We encourage all Pet Sitters to obtain a police check, but this is not compulsory to join our community.

Police checks don’t have an official expiry date and it’s up to the Pet Parent to decide if they accept it or not.

Pet Sitter Police Check

If you are a Pet  Sitter and would like to see how to acquire a police check, please read below.

Getting a Criminal Record check can increase your chances of getting a Pet Sit Assignment.

Not all Pet Owners will ask for it, but if you have a current one it may help your application success.
